Hi,

It all depends on what SAP release you are on.

In the later releases there is an option of stopping the delivery if it is too early but in the early releases this was not possible.

If you let me know the release of SAP you use I can help.

The option came in on 4.7 (I think), but it is definitely there in later releases.

Firstly, Remove the points from the first response.

Second, for your query to avoid user by posting GR before PO date.

There is an option where the user will not be able to receive the material before the Scheduled Delivery date. This think this will help to resolve your query. For this you need to setup the message M7-254 in OMCQ transaction code.

If you make setting for this message that will impact entire client level users so you can copy the message and make it with Z* version and use MSV parameter for making user / usergroup specific message settings. (for more help, please read the help text for that node)

Hi Arif,

You've suggested to use "Latest GR Date", but it <b>doesn't</b> solve my problem.

What I want is to disallowed supplier to send in material before the P/O due date. That is, if GR posting date is earlier than the P/O due date, I want the system to prompt an error message.

Hi,

The latest date field stops receipts AFTER the delivery date and not before.

Arif VERY RARELY makes mistakes and so please forgive him for this small misunderstanding.

Hello Kian,

There is a field in purchase order on "Delivery" tab called "Latest GR date". Put the date here so user will not be able to make the GR before this date.

Can i automatic default the "Latest GR Date" to the P/O Due Date.

If not, we have to input the "Latest GR Date" one by one, it is very time consuming.

Hi Arif,

I tried using the latest GR date as 04.05.2007 and tried to do GR on 03.05.2007 but the system posts the GR without any error.

Will you please suggest whether any other custiomization needs to be done for this.
