value help, mulitple selection NOT available...

We have installed the nw04s sps 11 dual stack (abap + java add on).

The visual composer story modeling (story board and components ) does

not have the multiple selection option on value help input field.

ONLY single selection is available.

Is there any configuration changes need to be done to activate multiple selection for Value info ??.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks very much.

In order to use this feature, your data service must support this. E.g. if this is a BW query, you need a corresponding variable. If the variable supports that, you will have this option.

Mario,

Thanks a lot.

BUT, this is NOT a BW query.

I have an SAP alias system defined as DEV in the portal.

Can this data service support this?

Do I have to change any properties of this data service to mimic BW/BI data service.

It is connection to ECC 5 system, and I am calling a RFC enabled function module or a BAPI.

Here are multiple variants for different services:

Mario,

I followed this link on drop down, multiselect.

Multiselect is NOT available on drop down list also.

Perhaps it would work if the data source is BI.

Can you clarify?

Do you mean you want to do multi-selection in a combo or dropdown? That's not possible in VC.

Does this example work ONLY with BI?

I have an an alias pointing to R3 ECC5 data source.

This example does not work .

can you clarify?

Thanks.

Mike, I still haven't understood what exactly the scenario is.

Do you want to select multiple values from the dropwdown? If so, the dropdown per se does not support multiple values sleecte, you'd have to use a table. Or you use a datastore element to keep the values (see last paragraph of my reply here).

Do you want to fire multiple values into the dataservice as filter?

You can also look at the model of such a selection that the wizard creates for a service (like a BI data service with a variable that supports multiselection) and adapt that for your RFC. Make sure your RFC can accept multiple values.
