Can I use the normal SQL Server backup procedures to backup data before year end-closing in SAP B1?

if not, does anyone have an idea as to what backup procedure I need to use to backup these data in the SAP Business One application?

Hi,

You can use normal SQL backup before Year End Closing. Before backup make sure all users are disconnected from SAP.

Thanks for your answer, Balaji. My company uses version 8.82 and the SAP Business One partner which did the implementation didn't install SAP RSP on our side and I have been trying to trace the Service Manager several times unsuccessfully so we are incapable of doing automatic backups unless we use SQL. I could have just done it on my own with the service manager or the RSP. I guess it is a way they are using to continually charge for support.

RSP 2.4 supports your 8.82 version.If you had the backup of the SAP software file then you can install. Else try to download the RSP and install so it will be helpful in auto backup. Meanwhile you can go with regular SQL backup procedure.

You can use the standard backup method of SQL server . For more automatic SAP has provided RSP tool for auto backup.
