How to add texts to the char info objects?

Hi,

i just want to display texts in report for four info objects!

what could be the procedure?

i found in display characteristic screen that medium texts exists for the info objetcs

how to get those texts to report?

Ravi,

Are they master data infoobjects? If master data infoobjects texts should be loaded to them so that you can display texts in the report by selecting the 'texts' in the properties for displaying the chars.

Ravi,

In the definition of the infoobject you can check that. See whether the master data check box and the texts check box are selected.

Also you can go to T table of that infoobject and see if there exits any text.

i found that in the definition of one info object check box for medium text exists was checked and for master data i did not find any where as for other infoobeject i found for both check boxes unchecked!

if both boxes are unchecked and i want to display texts for that info object, is it possible ? here in our requirement it is written that you should find master data in tables in R/3.i just could not get the point "find master data in R/3 tables"

can u help me in understanding what it exactly it means?

Ravi,

That means you should get master data and texts loaded to BW for those infoobjects. Once they are loaded to BW you can use them in reporting. Check if the required infra for loading master data is in place.

Also try to find out if there exists any t table for that infoobject in SE11 using the naming convention

/BIC/T<name of the IO>

/BI0/T<name of the IO> in case it is business content object

just don't give Z or Y after T but give the remaining name...
