To add some specific benefits of PI/PO over other on-premise middleware solutions to Inaki's list of generic MW benefits:

- Tight integration with SAP backend systems (proxies not available with other MW)

- As PI is based on Netweaver, you have the ability to co-host other SAP components on the same physical system. For instance, you could host NW Gateway on your PI box if you wanted to.

- Integration with SAP solution manager for monitoring, analytics and transport management

- You can re-use mappings developed in PI/PO in SAP HCI if you want to move some processes to the cloud later

- With the latest version of PO, you can run HCI content in an on-premise cloud runtime

That is assuming that your client is an SAP shop with most core business processes running on SAP. If you don't have to integrate with SAP, there isn't really a lot that would prompt you to go for PI/PO.

Hi Nampally,

You can search in google the benefits or advantages to use a middleware tool. Later, you can find a lot of information of SAP PI advantages, for example:

https://www.bcc.com.pl/en/academy-of-better-business/what-are-the-capabilities-of-sap-process-integr...

From my point of view, if your clients use SAP ECC and SAP need connectivity, you can tell them:

- Centralize integrations in PI.

- Monitoring of communications in PI.

- You don't need to have SAP ECC with access to internet, you will have only the SAP PI with this access, better security.

- Also, you can use PI for No-SAP integrations.

Regards.
