Required delivery date on Sales order

Former Member

Hi,

We have configured the sales order types to have 2 day lead time as the required delivery date for every sales order. We sell some products , which are custom and these have 90 day lead time.

Sales order will create the line item with custom product with required delivery date of 2 day lead time.

Is there any way , for the custom products , system proposes 90 day lead time instead of 2 day lead time.

System does propose 90 day lead time as schedule line, but we need the required delivery date as 90 day lead time, this will help analyze on time delivery for shipping department.

Thanks

-Naga

Thank you all for the responses,

I would like to clarify few things about the question i asked.

1) I do not want to change the required delivery date on the header, i want to change the required delivery date for some materials( like custom products, which take 90 days to make) on the sales order line item.

2) System is proposing 90 day lead time in the schedule line item, but we know and also customer knows that this particular product takes 90 days, so the requried delivery date for this part number should be 90 days lead time.

3) We have configured this part with MRP group 0052 in Material master MRP1 view.

4) Planning people are looking at MD04 screen for this custom product with the requried date as 2 day lead time , whereas everyone know that this part is 90 day lead time

Please let me know your thoughts

Thanks,

What if we use the same sales order document for different customers.

For one the customers the requested delivery date (lead time ) is 2 days and for other customer it is 7 days.

What needs to be done in this case ? . Kindly advise

Hi,

As per me the required delivery date is the Customer's required delivery date.Depending on this date as per the configuration system calculates commited delivery date taking into consideration Material avilability date,Pick pack time, loading time,Transportation lead time.

If you want to configure the scenario for your case, you can control through the field Plnd Delivery time in material master MRP 2 view. This you can maintained different for materials as per the requirement.

Hi

In the material master you can set up the planned delivery time in MRP1 view.

Planned delivery time in days

Number of calendar days needed to obtain the material or service if it is procured externally.

Procedure

If you have different vendors for a material, you must specify an average value. The same applies if you order the material from a fixed vendor that has varying delivery times.

Dependencies

If you use the SAP Retail System, the planned delivery time can be suggested from the vendor sub-range in the vendor master rec

reward points iff it helps

Hi,

Your schedule line delivery date is calculated from the material master data and that is what appears as line item delivery date.

It is not advisable to change the required delivery date at the header level as you can have multiple line items (with different delivery dates) in the sales order. You can always analyze on time delivery per line item, which is a good business practice.
