Email after changing the Developer value in a ChaRM urgent correction

I have a requirement that when the status of a ChaRM Urgent Change is "Created" and I populate the Developer field an email must be sent to the Developer that was captured to inform him/her that the change has been allocated to them. I have been struggling with a org. unit which I can't get to work. Has anyone done this before?
