How to give recipient programatically to an alert? Help

Hi Experts,

Is it possible to give a recipient programatically to an alert?

I am using the function module SALERT_CREATE but here I could not find any parameter for recipient.

Please help!

Gopal,

Answer is no.

But there are other options you can consider,

1. In the ALTCATDEF instead of defining FIxed Recipeients, you have options,

a) Recipeints via user role.

b) Subsciprtion AUthorization.

A --> If you want all users with role X to receiver the alert then you just give the role here and the alert will be sent to all users with role X.

B --> Is used to define the roles of users who can subscribe to the alerts. Give the role Y here and then any user with role Y can log on to his alert inbox and use the Subscription option to subscribe to his alerts.

Would this not do the trick ?
