Can you anyone tellme what is the difference between Xy and Xy Regression Charttype.

Hi krishna,

The XY chart displays the Scatter points (cross hair points) for each data.

In XY Regression chart displays the regression line drawn for those data.

The regression chart only displays the regression line. It does not show the scatter points.

Depends upon the requirement, the chart type is chosen.

<b>Use of Regression line</b>:- Regression lines can be used as a way of visually depicting the relationship between the independent (x) and dependent (y) variables in the graph.

Once a regression line is fixed, based on that (like y=3x+4) calulate the required values.

hi

If i choose only one tag its not showing anything in chart but if i choose 2 tag its showing scatter point for only one tag in chart area.what is the reason behind this

Of course for an X-Y plot or regression plot, you need two datasets. In the case of these two chart types, if I remember correctly, the first dataset is the "X" axis, and the second and additional dataset(s) are the "Y" ax(es).
