How to use CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES to get the OS Name/Version?

Hi all,

Would someone, please, tell me how to use the above method to get the OS Name and/or Version?

Explaining...

I have an ABAP/4 application which deals with some OLE (MS-Word), but we are facing a "transition period" when end users workstations have been changing from Windows 2000 to XP.

I have already learned that there is a different set of MS-Word commands for each environment and placed a flag in order to let the end user to select the current Workstation OS...

But, you know end users..., they never know, or they know but forget, or, or, or...

So I decided to identify the end user workstation operating system to prevent end users flaws...

SY-OPSYS gives me the Server OP System, so that's not what I am looking for.

After an extense search on these Forums, I realized that the above method would be helpful, but couldn't find out how to use it to know if the end user workstation is running under Windows 2000 or XP.

Would some merciful soul out there help me?

Many thanks in advance,

Alberto
