Automatic assignment of hierarchy using Functional Module or Program in BW

Hi all,

Pls let me know if there is any Functional Module or program is there for doing the Hierarchy for a specific Infoobject in BW automatically . For ex. I am having an Infoobject with 6 values in Master Data Maintenance. 01, 02, 0101, 0102, 0201, 0202.

The hierarchy should be like this :

01 02

0101 0201

0102 0202

and whenever a new data comes into the Infoobject from the source system it should also get assigned to the appropriate hierarchy .

If your data comes in this way you could load the data directly as a hierarchy associated to another characteristic...you dont need an additional infoobject for store this information

Dear Oscar,

Thanks for the valuable info . Here in my issue, I am having some master-data already maintained in the infoobject , and i need the following two to be done through my Functional Module or Program :

1. I need to do hierarchy for the existing master data available in that particular Infoobject as I said in the example and

2. Then if any masterdata is getting updated from my source system to the above said Infoobject that also wants to get assigned to the appropriate hierarchy .(This may be done once in every 24 hrs when ever we are running the FM/Program.)
