Hello YuLin Jin,

Just addition to Stephen's well explained response,

General Modification key / Account modifer key is free text field so you can define the name of your choise (to be safe, use Z* ), and when you copy the mvt type you give your input in account modifier key and make account determination process (GBB, KON, PRD) in OBYC transaction so when you do any inventory posting and if transaction is relevent to that combination then it will determine G/L account based on the settings.

Hope this helps.

Hio,

You can create new entries, most companies need to do this if they are using SAP functionality to the full.

If you want to have the system use different accounts for different situations then that is exactly waht the account modifer is designed for.

FRor example if you want to carry out a goods issue there may be several reasons for the issue, itcould be to consume the item for a production order, it could be to scrap the material, it could be due to a stock count difference. All of these issues remove the item from stock and so they use the GBB for the offsetting entry.

If you want to expand the possibilities, you can create new movement types and link them to new accouint modifiers and so you can decide what type of goods issue it is by the movement type and point them to different GLs.

Simply create your new movement type (copying is recommended) and in the config settings you will find the account modifier linked to it. Change this to one of your new ones and configure the settings in GBB (and any other event key that uses account modifiers.

There is normally no need to change the account modifiers on existing movement types (all you would do is configure different accounts for GBB instead) so you only need new account modifiers if you are going to use new movement types (normally)

That works fine.
