Good day,
I am trying to install SAP HANA Express and my install keeps failing with this error, as I am new to Linux and HANA any advice will be appreciated.

Update of SAP HANA Express Edition components failed.
Error occurred while executing Update SAP HANA Express Edition System and Components.
I followed these instructions and all of a sudden my install has gone further
https://www.sap.com/developer/tutorials/hxe-azure-opensuse-dependencies.html
and also ran this on the extracted folder before running install
chmod -R 777 ./HANA_EXPRESS_20/
not sure which fixed it but one or both of them did.

I have placed the files on dropbox as requested.
The xscontroller file was located at /usr/sap/HXE/HDB90/saphee.sap.lonmin.net/trace/, not sure if that has any relevamce.

Hello Andrew:
There are two other files that might be of help:
1.xscontroller_0.log from the trace directory. (/usr/sap/HXE/HDB90/hxehost/trace if the instance is 90)
2.access_log-controller-route-api.log in hana/shared/<SID>/xs/controller_data/controller/router/webdispatcher/logs
I think you mentioned that there weren't any xs files in the trace directory, but I'm hoping you might have the access_log-controller...

Carl

Unfortunatly seems when I retried the process it removed the old file (I assume as it is not there).
Thank you for the assistance.

Hello Andrew:
Thanks. I see the following error in the hdblcmweb.log:
################################################

07:54:47.685 - INFO: Output line 28: Installation failed

Unfortunately, the logs don't include /var/tmp/hdb_HXE_hdblcm_update_2017-06-22_07.49.17/hdbinst_XS.log but the next day's logs (hdb...2017-06-23...log). So, I can't see any more details of what went wrong during the XSA installation. If you happen to have that 2017-06-22 log, could you please add it to the files on the drop box. In the meantime, I will contact the some colleagues on the installer team to let them know about your case in the hope that the information shared here so far will be enough for them to diagnose it.
Thanks for your patience,
Regards,
Carl

Hello Andrew:
It may help the diagnosis if you share the logs. Can you try zipping up the installation logs and share them? The logs are located in the /var/tmp directory and begin with "hdb". You could tar them up with the following command:
"tar -cvzf hdblogs.tgz hdb*"
If that proves too big to upload, just tar up the contents of the most recent HXE install directory "/var/tmp/hdb_HXE_hdblcm_install_<date>" and the "hdbinst_XS.log" and "hdbinst_XS.msg" files.
Can you also share information about the operating system version you are trying to install on and the version of HANA Express. The HANA Express version information can be found in the file "/usr/sap/HXE/SYS/global/hdb/hxe_info.txt"

Carl
