Hi All,
I need to know, what should be the basic setup/environment for doing Spatial Analysis in
SAP HANA. Should I go for a normal ADT environment with eclipse?
I need a step by step process for the setup.
Thanks & Regards
Sunil
SAP HANA Spatial is an Option. So first of all you have to ensure, that you have the required license to use that option (for some more information have a look to the Introduction section in the SAP HANA Spatial Reference).
Regarding your question which Development Environment you have to use, it has to be distinguished what you wanna do exactly. What can be said, is that the ADT Tools (ABAP Development Tools) will not help you here, because that Eclipse Plugin is exclusive for ABAP development.
If you wanna just do some spatial SQL commands or calc. views in XS Classic Eclipse with the installed SAP HANA Tools (check details here) or the HANA web-based development workbench is enough.
If you wanna do e.g. calc. views in XS Advanced, you have to ensure that XS Advanced and the SAP Web IDE for SAP HANA is available for your HANA installation. More details about that can be found in the SAP HANA Administration Guide and in the SAP HANA Developer Guide for XS Advanced.

Florian

Hi Florian,
Thanks for the reply. One more question is, which perspective we need to go for Spatial development. Is it HANA modeling or Hana Development?
Thanks & Regards
Sunil
