Change UOM

Dear All

We have a requirement to change base unit of measurement for a material number which dose not have any open stock or any dependent objects in the system but the material number has a BOM is it possible to change the UOM

Why do u want to change the base UOM? There is option of UOM change in material master by maintaining the conversion factor.But actually you cannot change BASE UOM, but still you can change procurement unit, issue unit, sales unit, by maintaing the conversion ratio in additional data tab in material master.

You can not change the UOM of material if material is a BOM/

the material is used in BOM.

Hi,

you cannot change the basic UOM if there is a BOM for this material and so you would have to consider creating a new material and BOM. This would be the easiest solution from a master data maintenance viewpoint, but there may be business reasons why it could be tricky (The material number may already be quoted on advertising details or price lists etc.)

But Yogesh has already given you the correct answer.
