Alphanumeric Number Range in VF01

Dear Experts,

My client want to create VBRK-VBELN as alphanumeric

Example

Years Document Type Plant Code & then invoice number

17A1100000-17A1199999

17 is year, A- document like Invoice/Credit/Debit, 11 1st two character of Plant Code

So any one have idea, how to create this.. we were trying by SAP ODN note but that failed.

Also trying to use user exit USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE, but failed this logic, May be my logic was wrong.. please help to build logic
