Can someone please explain me

What are change pointers?

Hai,

Change pointers are used by system to mark changes so that after the initial transfer, changes could be transmitted. Thats general and is not just particular to APO. All SAP systems use this concept.

You can set them in BD 61 and BD 50 transactions.

Check <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/12/83e03c19758e71e10000000a114084/content.htm">Change Pointer (Master Data Distribution)</a> and <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/0b/2a60bb507d11d18ee90000e8366fc2/frameset.htm">ALE Integration Technology</a>

Hope this helps.
