Regarding LO-Extraction

Hi guyz,

In LO-Extraction ,

1 ) why should we do "Inactive" and again make it "Active' ?

2 ) why should we go for deletion of setup tables and fill them again ?

3 ) what are V1, V2, V3 ?

4 ) while performing LO- extraction....with V3 update, i am unable to understand where V3 is dependant on V2 ?

Regards,

Hawkins.

HI,

StepsEdit section

Go to transaction code RSA3 and see if any data is available related to your DataSource. If data is there in RSA3 then go to transaction code LBWG (Delete Setup data) and delete the data by entering the application name.

Go to transaction SBIW --> Settings for Application Specific Datasource --> Logistics --> Managing extract structures --> Initialization --> Filling the Setup table --> Application specific setup of statistical data --> perform setup (relevant application)

In OLI*** (for example OLI7BW for Statistical setup for old documents : Orders) give the name of the run and execute. Now all the available records from R/3 will be loaded to setup tables.

Go to transaction RSA3 and check the data.

Go to transaction LBWE and make sure the update mode for the corresponding DataSource is serialized V3 update.

Go to BW system and create infopackage and under the update tab select the initialize delta process. And schedule the package. Now all the data available in the setup tables are now loaded into the data target.

Now for the delta records go to LBWE in R/3 and change the update mode for the corresponding DataSource to Direct/Queue delta. By doing this record will bypass SM13 and directly go to RSA7. Go to transaction code RSA7 there you can see green light # Once the new records are added immediately you can see the record in RSA7.

Go to BW system and create a new infopackage for delta loads. Double click on new infopackage. Under update tab you can see the delta update radio button.

V1 Update: It is a Synchronous update. Here the Statistics update is carried out at the same time as the document update (in the application tables).

• V2 Update: It is an Asynchronous update. Statistics update and the Document update take place as different tasks.

o V1 & V2 don’t need scheduling.

• Serialized V3 Update: The V3 collective update must be scheduled as a job (via LBWE). Here, document data is collected in the order it was created and transferred into the BW as a batch job. The transfer sequence may not be the same as the order in which the data was created in all scenarios. V3 update only processes the update data that is successfully processed with the V2 update.

Hi,

Generally in LO extraction, making the struc. active and inactive will generate the structure according to the changes you madein the struc. so that it would accomodate the setup data fillup..

and coming to the deletion of your setup table..is simple..coz. since you made or about make any changes it would suggest you for the deletion of the setup table

contents so that, the next time onwards it would fetch the data according to the new strucutre generated..

hope it helps..

assign points if useful..

Cheers,
