Customizing Settings for ALE Change Pointers in SCM 5.0 and ECC 6.0

Dear All ,

I need support in two situations :

(a) The Bought Out Products Distribution Receipt ( Planned ) should be transferred to ECC on a periodic basis for which I created the Customizing Global SNP Settings . But how do we set the ALE Change Pointers so that /sapapo/c5 can read the orders and a background job can be scheduled to send the transaction elements for a specific period to ECC .

(b) Also would appreciate your help in what role does CIF play regards ALE Change Pointers .

Thanks for your support .

Best Regards ,

Prashant Kumar

Hello Kumar

As you already mentioned, the customize you made is correct for periodic transfer of SNP. So when you made any change (update/delete/create), it is collected internally and change pointer can be detected and be sent to SAP ECC through t-cd /SAPAPO/C5 or program /SAPAPO/RDMCPPROCESS(so you can schedule background job with this program).

(Similer behavior also occur when you acivate collect change pointer for specific

user in SAP transaction /SAPAPO/C4. In thjis case, change pointer also can be

detected by /SAPAPO/C5).

And ALE change pointer is also related to master data transfer from SAP ECC to

SAP SCM.

If you use change pointer(you can control in SAP ECC CFC9), you need to send master data change with corresponding transaction like CFP1/CFP3/CURTO_CREATE. If you use BTE transer, some of the master data can be sent to SAP SCM immediately(This is also controled by CFC9 transaction).

Regarding on CIF, I recommned you to read best practice document of CIF that can be available from service market place.

1. Please go to http://service.sap.com/solutionmanagerbp

2."Best Practices for Solution Management -> Availability

-> by mySAP.com Solution -> mySAP SCM ->

"Manage APO Core Interface in SAP APO (3.x) / mySAP SCM (4.x/5.0)"

In this document, you may see helpful information.
