SAP CAL S/4 HANA 1610 FPS01 Confusing Port Information

Hi Experts,

We have our SAP CAL running on the Azure platform with the Access Points configured as below.

We know that the FIORI LaunchPad and the Designer attempt run on port: 44301 on the browser when called from the SAP GUI. Why is the port 44300 available to be enabled?

TCode: SMICM shows this:

The configuration in SMICM is being used by the services in TCode: SICF during testing in the browsers. Port 50000 is not listed as part of the Access Point above and thus, browser access fails. We are planing to do re-direct in the profile parameters from Http to Https to stop our browsers from failing when run SICF.

Why do we have these entries this way in the Access Point and SMICM (especially, the Http port)? We are confused about these entries and thus, unable to properly guide our in-house network team on which ports to open from our network to Azure.

    Hi Baku,

We have a blog for "Known Issues" for this specific CAL appliance here, where you can post this kind of question. On that blog, in a prior Q&A thread there, there is a discussion about ports was listed and I've copied in the text below.

Also if you haven't had a chance to look at our "Getting Started Guide" pdf normally on CAL, but is also here on this link ( Check section "1.5 Security Aspects" which outlines which port has been assigned for what function. This should prove helpful, but if you have further questions, please post your question to the blog I've linked to above.

Thank you and see text below:

    From the "Known Issues Blog":

The port 44301 points to the web dispatcher and port 44300 points to the S/4HANA Directly.

This Appliance has the Gateway, S/4HANA and HDB setup in the same system and thus using port 44300 will also work for most of the Fiori Applications, except the Web Assistance. We need the Web dispatcher to re-direct the service calls to an external system for the Web Assistant to work. So you should still point to web dispatcher (44301) if you want a fully working appliance.

See the routing parameter on the screen shot.
