Hi,

We are having a problem with log files getting full of our old version of Content Server, Kernel version 7.3.0 of SAPDB on Windows 2000.

We can use SAPDB DBMGUI version 7.4 and Maxdb DBMGUI 7.6 to do a full backup and a log backup manually.

We are try automate these backups so the log files do not fill up and shut the system down.

Regards,

Brain

Hello Brian,

To avoid the log_full situation on the PROD server, the Automatic

log backup is recommended to be used.

You could choose in DBMGUI 7.4.... Instance-> Backup-> Autolog on

to activate the Automatic log backup.

OR

Activate automatic log backup using the DBMGUI 7.6... ->

Backup -> Backup Wizard -> Activate/deactivate automatic log backup

or with the DBMCLI command autolog_on <Medium>

Database documentation is available at www.sapdb.org

Please also review the document "Backup and Recovery" at wiki at

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/maxdb/main&;

My Home > MaxDB > ...Main > MaxDB Support Guide > Content Server

If you are SAP customer you could review additional information in SAP note 869267.

Please update the additional info if you will have further questions about SAPDB & DBMGUI:

-> What is Version of the DBMGUI ?

< Start the DBMGUI -> main menu 'Help' ->"About Database Manager" -> File version ? >

OR

< Start the DBMGUI -> main menu 'Help' ->"About" -> Version ? >

-> What is the database version? You didn't tell us about build number.

Please run the dbm command "dbm_version" or check in the knldiag file,

for example.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
