TIME CHARECTERSTICS in ODS

Hi friends,

i have one doubt.. that in Info Cube level we have Time dimension, there we can take Time charecterstics... but in ODS level there is no seperate TIME DIMENSION, So, in ODS level is it not mandatory of time charecterstic. ?

if it is mandatory means how we can take that...

In ODS, even time chars work like other chars. ODS is not multidimensional, so time dimension is like any other char. you just need to judge whether it should be a keyfield or a data field based upon the business requirement and data behavior(in case it is mandatory).

hi Ajay ,

It is not mandatory in ODS, but if you require to add the time charactristics in the ODS,

you can select All Infoobjects button from your left side pannel while creating your ODS , which get the infoobjects in three headings as char , Time Char, and KFs ,

you can add the necessary tome characters from it based on your requirement,

Yes Ajay it is not mandatory to have time dimension in ODS level but u can use it in data fields or key fields as per your project requirement.
