Prevent Duplicates in BP with BAS and TREX

Hi all,

I am trying to prevent duplicates from being created in transaction BP but am not quite sure how to proceed. I've set up the TREX connection, indexing, and all that stuff. I tested it with program RS_SIC_CONFIGURATION_TEST. This works as expected. I've also activated BADIs SIC_ADDRESS_SEARCH and SIC_ADDRESS_UPD_TREX but don't know how else to proceed.

Now when I create a new business partner in BP, it appears there are no checks being done even when I use the exact same inputs.

Can anyone please provide support? My familiarity with BAS is not very good.

Thanks in advance. Points will be awarded for helpful responses.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is this even possible?

Nevermind. I figured it out. Our threshold for duplicates was too high.

John,

Our company is looking to implement the exact same functionality. I have a quick question for you regarding your solution, if you don't mind?

Upon configuring SES and TREX (and activating SIC_ADDRESS_SEARCH and SIC_ADDRESS_UPD_TREX), was there anymore custom coding required on your end?

We're hoping the out-of-box implementation of SIC_ADDRESS_SEARCH is enough to both find and show the possible duplicate matches via a pop-up window. From what I understand, as long as SIC_ADDRESS_SEARCH finds any matches, the pop-up will be rendered automatically by the system (with no need to code this additional functionality), at which time, the user can take the neccessary action.

We're also hoping we won't have to purchase a third party solution that provides this functionality. Did you guys have to use/purchase a third party tool in order to get this functionality to work, or was simply activating SIC_ADDRESS_SEARCH enough?

Thanks a lot for your time, I more than appreciate it!

Or, if anyone else knows the answers to my questions, please respond

Matt

As long as TREX is installed and an index has been created, I believe the only other configuration steps are to set the thresholds. Please see the following links for more detailed information:
