Delta for 2LIS_03_BX

Hi,

We are trying to load inventory data into BW. My team mate(now he has moved out of the team) has performed the Generate Initial Status using the datasource 2LIS_03_BX.The data has also successfully been loaded into BW.

Now I have the following questions:

1. If I want to load data to the cube on a regular basis, can I perform delta from the datasource 2LIS_03_BX. I just checked in the infopackage and could not find the delta option at all.

2. Since I could not find delta, I was thinking if a Full load can be performed.If I can do a full load, will it bring valid data?

3. If the above two options are not possible, then how do I bring in the latest data to BW. Do I have to perform delta using the datasource 2LIS_03_BF?

I have gone through the document and had these doubts. Can someone please clarify?

Hi Kiran,

Inventory management in BW is littel different than all other loads. Here you generate the initial status with 2lis_03_BX. And then you need to initialise 2lis_03_bf for taking delta loads. Can you tell me what is the update method (direct/queued delta) for the 2lis_3_BF and UM datasource in your R/3 system (in LBWE).

if delta is active there then you can just pulle delta daat using BF delta. But the compression has to be done with correct marker. i.e the BX reuqests in Cube have to be compressed with marker ( untick the checkbox ). And the further BF loads request without marker (tick the checkbox)

LO EXTRACTION

- Go to Transaction LBWE (LO Customizing Cockpit)

1). Select Logistics Application

SD Sales BW

Extract Structures

2). Select the desired Extract Structure and deactivate it first.

3). Give the Transport Request number and continue

4). Click on `Maintenance' to maintain such Extract Structure

Select the fields of your choice and continue

Maintain DataSource if needed

5). Activate the extract structure

6). Give the Transport Request number and continue

- Next step is to Delete the setup tables

7). Go to T-Code SBIW

8). Select Business Information Warehouse

i. Setting for Application-Specific Datasources

ii. Logistics

iii. Managing Extract Structures

iv. Initialization

v. Delete the content of Setup tables (T-Code LBWG)

vi. Select the application (01 – Sales & Distribution) and Execute

- Now, Fill the Setup tables

9). Select Business Information Warehouse

i. Setting for Application-Specific Datasources

ii. Logistics

iii. Managing Extract Structures

iv. Initialization

v. Filling the Setup tables

vi. Application-Specific Setup of statistical data

vii. SD Sales Orders – Perform Setup (T-Code OLI7BW)

Specify a Run Name and time and Date (put future date)

Execute

- Check the data in Setup tables at RSA3

- Replicate the DataSource

Use of setup tables:

You should fill the setup table in the R/3 system and extract the data to BW - the setup tables is in SBIW - after that you can do delta extractions by initialize the extractor.

Full loads are always taken from the setup tables

Hi,

If u have loaded the data to BX then follow the following process:

1. Run the extraction for 2LIS_03_BX in BW.

2. Compress the request with ‘No Marker Update’ NOT SET i.e. unticked or unchecked.

3. Run the extraction for 2LIS_03_BF in BW for initialization.

4. Compress the request with ‘No Marker Update’ SET i.e. ticked or checked.

5. Run the extraction for 2LIS_03_UM in BW.

6. Compress the request with ‘No Marker Update’ SET i.e. ticked or checked.

7. Do the load for both 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM delta records.

Hi all, thanks for you response. In my case, I wanted to know the following:

After doing the generate initial status, can i do the full upload using the same datasource i.e 2LIS_03_BX. If yes, then should I be deleting the previous request or should I retain it ?

Also, will the full update take data from set up tables?

Hi Kiran,

If you want to reload BX then i think you have to delete data from your Material Cube.

Because you have already compressed BX,UM and BF requests.

So you cant delete individual requests.

And if you reload then it would be duplicate records.

By the way why do you want to relaod initial stock? any reasons?

Hi Kiran,

after you generate initial status(even you haven't generate initial) you are not able to upload with option full upload, you may try there will be message pop up and your info package will not pull data from data source.And remind you, 2lis_03_bx must only be extracted once into BW system, otherwise your stock will be duplicate.

How is the system calculate the stock? History data material movement 2lis_03_bf will contribute the stock.

Hi,

You will load 2lis_03_bx only once,As 2lis_03_bx is to Just Initialize the Opening Stock.for all the Material movements will be loaded by using 2lis_03_bf and Revolutions by using 2lis_03_um.

Hi Kiran,

1. 2lis_03_bx only run once( in the R/3 use tcode MCNB ), and you must choose "generate initial status" in infopackage because there're non cumulative key figures and delta will not applicable for data source 2lis_03_bx.

2. Running 2lis_03_bx to get quantity/value stock on that date (the date when you run MCNB), let say you run MCNB at 19th April, in setup table you will get Stock data at 19th April (please check on date column).

3. You must run data source 2lis_03_bf to get history material movement (this movement contribute stock data) and pull into BW system in the same cube.

4. Data 2lis_03_bx must do compress with marker update in the cube and data 2lis_03_bf before 19th April must compress with no marker update.

Hi Kiran,

2LIS_03_BX should be run only once, it is to Initialize stock from R/3 to BW via MCNB Transaction - only once.

Then on you run 2LIS_03_UM and 2LIS_03_BF regularly.

I hope you know about the compression with marker for BX and with no Marker Update for BF and UM.

Otherwise your stock values will be wrong.
