Generic datasource

Hi gurus

When i am creating a generic datasoruce on a table and trying to test in rsa3 its giving error 6 RSS_PROGRAM_GENERATE

any solution on this please.

Hi,

Try fetching data using function module. If u r unable to select data using select then there might be some authorization issue on this table.

Hi All,

Thanks for the excellent help and inputs,

i have created a function module using the Zfunction module using the template of ZRSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE and populated data in that i have converted the string fields to char and populated it thanks a lot its working fine now.

otherwise : RSS_PROGRAM_GENERATE is a function module... you can check the function module and its class...there are several other oss notes concerning the parameters to used in this function module.

Hi

I just found out that in my table DPR_DASHBOARD is having a field which is having a data type as STRING and for testing i have appended the same field for someother datasource then after appending this field its not allowing me to activate

is this the reason if yes how to solve this....

Hi Gurus,

Actually i checked by creating a Generic datasource on some other table its working fine, but when i create it on this table DPR_DASHBOARD (which is a transparent table) i am getting the error...and also i tried by even creating a view but still the same error.

any workaround to fetch the data of this table.

Generate your created datasource. You can do this in the first menu of the datasource creation tab.

you should use transparent table (instead of structure) in a interface of your Function module.
