Set up User-Mapping without entering users password?

Hello everyone

Is it possbile to set up user mapping between portal and SAP R/3 without entering the mapped users passwords? Preferably by providing a "mapping list" that can be changed by only one person (the user admin).

I have implemented single sign on between windows and the portal by using kerberos authentication and ldap connection. Now I want to implement single sign on between portal and SAP R/3. But the windows user names are different from our SAP R/3 user names. So the best solution would be a mapping list that is maintained by the SAP user administrator.

I allready set up a trusted connection between portal and SAP R/3. So if the user names are equal single sign on works. I also set up a reference system for user mapping and successfully established single sign on for a user with different names in portal and SAP R/3 (therefore RFC rights were necessary, but this is another problem/thread). In this case the user had to enter the R/3 password once in order to set up the mapping.
