Dear all,
after a successful installation of NW2004S I get the following error:
Partner'127.0.0.1:sapdp00' not reached
Release 710
Version 39
etc.
From the SAP console I see that the database and the Netweaver Instance NSP is up an running (database is shown in blue and instance in green). In the SAPlogon I have the following entry:
Description: NSP local
Appl.server: localhost
SysNo: 00
SysID: NSP
in the host file (directory: System/drivers/etc)
127.0.0.1 localhost
the command HOSTNAME gives me the name of my machine:
boston
the command JAVA -VERSION gives:
"Java Version 1.4.2"
I also have a MS Loopback network connection defined and established, the IP is 10.10.1.10
What are the important bits to reach/ping and to logon to the netweaver instance?
It would be great if someone could give me a hint.
Kind regards
Thomas.
Hi Tomas:
You have to check that the following services are running:
A) Start - Control Panel - Adm.Tools - Services
- SAPDB: NSP
- SAPNSP_00
B) App. Server
- Start - All Programs - SAP Netweaver 2004s - NSP - Start Application Server
Gruessen.

Hi,
Just change the entry for the Appl.Server to the hostname of the machine where you have installed your instance. Localhost won't work.
Also from start->run try this.
sapgui <ip address> <Central instance...which is 00 in your case>
Both will work.
No other issue it seems so.
reward with points.

In my system, the IP for loopback is 10.10.0.10. It may be important to use this IP instead of yours. Make sure that you change this in the Hosts file as well as the static IP under the loopback adapter.

Hi Rich,
thanks for the hint. However it didn't help. My host file looks like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.10.0.10 boston
It doesn't matter how I define the application server entry in my SAPlogon, either with:
- localhost
- boston
- 127.0.0.1
- 10.10.0.10
I still get this error.
The system number is 00 and the system ID is NSP.
Is there a way to ping the netweaver instance? If so, how does the command look?
Kind regards
Thomas.
In saplogon, I am using localhost, i think you should stick with that. Here is how my host files looks.
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.10.0.10 HEILMANR9083.yrktwn.com
I think it is important to use the fully qualified domain name as you can see in the second line here. Hopefully you know your domain.
Regards,
RIch Heilman
