SAP BW/4HANA SP03 including BW/4HANA Content SP01 XT

Hello.

I was wondering if it's possible to try activate an instance of the above solution in the SAP CAL and access it via the SAP GUI?

There is no SAP GUI access point available - only SSH.

Is there a work around?

I have activated the BW/4HANA 1.0 Developer edition but I was hoping to play with some Business Content, hence my interest in this solution.

Or perhaps this isn't a trial system as such to test?

Thanks.

Hi Mark,

SAPGUI needs ports 3200 and 3300 open. I will check with the CAL colleagues how to do this.

Regards,

Matthias

Hi Matthias.

Many thanks, that would be much appreciated as I couldn't find an option to enable the SAPGUI access via port 3200.

Mark

Hi Mark,

You can find information on how to open ports in the CAL documentation

https://calstatic.hana.ondemand.com/res/docEN/9b23918d3515483caa5e7192e91fd9ca.html

serction 6 describes editing and adding new access points.

When you open the ports you can connect manually with sapGUI, adding one-click connect from CAL to running instances is not possible.

Best regards,

Tsonyo

Hi Tsonyo.

There is no SAP Frontend Virtual Machine for the SAP BW/4HANA SP03 including BW/4HANA Content SP01 XT Solution as there is for the SAP BW/4HANA 1.0 [Developer Edition] Solution (see screenshots below).. so I presume it's just not possible to connect to the former system via the SAP GUI - or I am wrong?

Thanks.
Mark

Hi Mark,

The presence of a frontend VM is a convenience for development purposes in the dev edition, it is not relevant to the ability to connect to the BW/4HANA solution, which is contained in the VM labeled "linux" - if the ports are opened you should be able to connect via SapGUI if the VM is visible to you - i.e. in VPN or with public IP.

Best regards,

Tsonyo
