Translate a standard ADOBE form to EN

Former Member

Hello,

If I log on to the GUI and run transaction SFP to look at FP_TEST_03 I see no objects in the heirarchy view when logging on with language EN.

When I log on with DE I see the form definition in the layout but it's all in German.

How can I translate, or import, or copy the standard form to be able to see the objects when logging on in EN?

Thanks

Wayne

Ps. i will reward points for helpful answers!!!

Hi,

through transaction se63 (or the shortcut in the sfp top menu) you can realize your translation from the original language into any other target language. That would seem very easy, but actually it's not. It works just if you've installed SAP service pack 10, otherwise some stupid bug in the xml parser won't let you save your changes (you receive a misterious warning about missing objects)...

Hi Stefano,

Thanks for the hint, I tried it though and it's not exactly what I meant. If you've worked on SAPscript there is a tool to import standard forms from client 000 and translate them to english from their original German. I was looking for something similar in Adobe forms.

For example any of the standard forms, when you log on in EN (english) are all blank in the designer but if you log on in DE (german) then all the components are on the form in design mode.

Hello experts,

we have exactly the problem Stefano described. When trying to translate an adobe pdf-form we are unable to save the translation and see the following warning message: "Omitted Objects ( Could not be Converted)".

We are running Service Pack 9. Is there any way to get this working without having to upgrade to Service Pack 10?

I have been looking for an excisting note but unable to find any.

Thanks and regards

Hi Wayne,

ADOBE Forms works as the same way as SAPSCRIPT or SMARTFORMS that means you have to translate them with transaction SE63.

In transaction SFP , choose your forms and then select "goto ->Translation" then you will got at least one object to translate with key <PDFB> which is the text in the forms ready to translate .

After having translate it , save and activate your forms and then you can got to layout tab in the translation language and do what you want.

Hope this help you.
