Hello Experts,
In 3.x we have the option of "Affected Data Providers" (param name="TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_n..) for the Navigation block. Where as in 2004S version this optoion is not available right now.
Do we have any work around to have the multiple Affected(Target) dataprovider references in 2004S for the Navigation pane.
Highly appreciate your help and advanced thanks.
Ramana
As the navigation pane is a drag and drop based object, it doesn't make sense to bind this directly to more than one dataprovider... You can have workarounds by using eventing if you want to do this, but you would need to do that with the scripting web item with the xml dataprovider web item, but this would be based on nav state and not drag and drop...

Hi,
one question to your answer.
what has the target data provider to do with the drag & drop funct.
drag & drop a characteristic for the purpose of selection to a navigation pane is one thing, but filter it and the effect to a data provider is a other thing - from users perspective.
Let me make an example, we have two queries both with char. calyear, do i know have to have two navigation pane ( each for one query) and two (dropdown`s/ or sth. else) in nav pane. for calyear - that can´t be the truth.
Please correct me if i´m wrong.
Another 2 things which i see while working with nav pane,
- the descison how a char. should look like in nav pane is defined in the rsd1 char settings
( that is hard to work in a big system where you want to reuse chars - but display them in
another way in other applications... is there a solution for this ?)
- in some settings (e.g. dropdwon with values) you don´t see the actual selected filter value in
the initial state of the dropdown. in my sense it is important for the user to see which data he
has selected and putting a additional info field shouldn´t be the solution, or ?
