Hi,
For SAP with DB2 on AIX, The default settings for TRANSFERRATE and OVERHEAD are:
TRANSFERRATE 0.060000
OVERHEAD 7.500000
Is it supported to change these values, as these values are default.
What would be the best setting we still have to figure out, but I first want to know if it is supported at all before we go and fiddle with them.
Best regards,
Menno
Hi,
good question. I guess most customers stay with the DB2 default values of those parameters although in some cases they can have influence on the DB2 optimizer and access plans may change.
The default values of those parameters changed over time with different DB2 versions. Cutomers that have a long DB2 version history may have different parameter settings for different tablespaces. Automatic storage tablespaces usually inherit the parameters from the storage group they have been created in( https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEPGG_10.5.0/com.ibm.db2.luw.admin.dbobj.doc/doc/c00... ). SWPM creates all storage groups with the DB2 default parameter settings.

Frank
