We're currently trying to find a way to block the upload of certain files (agnostic, pdf,...) to the user's personal folders. We did a similar exercise to the public folders, where it worked perfectly to assign the security on the top folder to block the file types we wanted to block.
However, strangely enough, when we're setting up the exact same security to the personal folders, it does nothing. Our users can still upload those files, even though we've explicitly denied adding that particular object to the folder.
Is this some kind of bug? Or is there something else we need to think about when setting up security for the personal folders?
Thanks a lot!
I would think this is either a bug or a missing functionality, in either way - it should be reported to SAP via Support Incident. BI-BIP-ADM component.
Hi,
- Log in to CMC with an administrator and navigate to Personal Folders.
- Select the respective user’s Personal Folder – Right click User Security - 'Add Principal' – Add the user and go to advanced tab and deny rights for that user under Content tab deny the below right for the PDF, Agnostic, etc:
-Add object to the folder.
-Add object to the folders that user owns.
