Dear all,
I am MBA student at HTW University of Applied Sciences, Berlin. Currently, I am searching for an interesting topic to write my master thesis. Before starting my MBA, I have worked as SAP BW consultant for 4 years and 1 year as SAP ABAP programmer. Hence, I am interested in writing my master thesis in the SAP Business Warehouse space.
Although I stopped working 2 years ago, to pursue my MBA, I have been following the developments happening around SAP BW. But, to write an interesting master thesis to address a specific situation or a challenge, I need your help.
As I see, SAP BW/4 HANA is the latest development in the data warehouse space. I am eager to do a scientific study on an interesting topic related to SAP BW/4 HANA. Your advice/suggestion is highly valuable for me.
Best Regards, Ranjan

Hello Ranjan,
SAP BW/4HANA is all about simplification. While we talk about it and have documented the difference, it would be fantastic to get a more scientific point of view. How much simpler is it really?
I could imagine picking a few typical modeling scenarios and implementing them once in SAP BW (transaction RSA1), then again in SAP BW/4HANA (BW Modeling Tools) and literally counting steps or even mouse clicks. You could do it in a pure lab environment (yourself) or together with SAP customers or both. Evaluate the effort and time it takes to complete the tasks.
Finish it off with a survey of customers to see if the simplifications play out in their projects and provide the benefits we promise.
Best,
Marc
