saprouter change

I need to change the IP address our SolMan system uses for saprouter. I believe I know what to do but would appreciate confirmation before I go ahead & make the change.

Our SolMan Windows server was built with 2 network cards. One for internal connections, the 2nd for connection to SAP. We now realise this was unnecessary & in fact it causes us some problems. I plan to remove the 2nd (externally facing) card & only use the one card for internal & external connections. I *think* all I need to do is change the IP address in SOLMAN_SAPROUTER in our SolMan system & register the new address with SAP.

I do also realise we also need to amend firewall rules & any connections on other servers which may use the old (externally facing) IP address but is there anything else in SolMan or elsewhere which I've missed? Obviously I then need to test using SNOTE, RFC test connections etc

Thanks, Chris

    Hi Chris,

You will need a Public IP which will then connect to SAProuter. Yes, you are right you need to amend firewall rules and also maintain routtab entries. As you mentioned, you need to register the public ip of your router to SAP. There is nothing else you need to do to setup your new router ip. The below diagram may help you.

    Hope this helps.
