Hi everybody,
I have created a bespoke workflow and its working fine. In the program exit (Event
EVENT_BEFORE_CREATION) I create a text that that is passed to a value in the workitem and used as workitem text. This works fine until a waiting event is triggered after 4 days of inactivity. From that pont onwards the text is not updated although the event is triggered.
Now the question: Are there any restrictions regarding updating the workitem container?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for your answer. The problem was - as it often is - in front of the screen. I have not realised that cahnging attributes in workitems will not cause a new version of the workflow but nevertheless has an impact after trasnport.

What do you mean by "text updated"? The exit event is called once when the WI is created, and I would not expect it to be executed again when the deadline expires. Therefore, from your description, I would not expect it to change.
As an aside, generating texts in this manner is a little unusual. Have you considered alternatives, such as maybe some sapscript code and SO10 texts? These would be a little more dynamic as they are generated at runtime.
