Turn warning message into error message

Former Member

Dear members,

So I am trying to change the settings for a specific warning message in de PP - Planning Table. The message is assigned to Application Area CY - Capacity Requirements Planning. Message no. is 720.

I have already tried in OPJB to add this entry for this message but the App. area CY cannot be added here. I also tried to create a Message control by user in OBA5, but it looks like the system is not taking this into account.

Any help and other suggestions are welcome.

Hello Oguz

Sometimes a message is hardcoded as an error, in order to avoid inconsistencies. In this case, you will not be able to change the message type in customizing.

You can follow the instructions from the following document, which explains how to reach an error message in debug and then you can verify if it is hardcoded as an error.

Hello Caetano,

Thank you for your reply. Looks like this is one of the hard coded warning messages. Can you share the document you've mentioned?

Thanks, Oguz

If it is hardcoded, you can only change the message type with a modification in the source code, which is not recommended, as you may generate inconsistencies and you may have problems in capacity leveling.

Hello Oguz,

Thanks for sharing the screen shot. Please check the given procedure to avoid the warning message by clicking on the message description.I have checked for standard configuration but not able to find it.I think through ABAP involvement it can be achieved.

Oguz,

I will run the transaction where message is coming, use tcode /h . & put a breakpoint on message statement. Where ever I find 720 that is the place that need to be understand. if SAP is hard coded that message with W.

You left with no choice to leave it as is or change SAP code with access key.

I will also check my capacity requirement configuration with this material, that something is not configured correctly.

Thanks

Hello Swapnil,

I am getting the message during scheduling in CM25, please see below:

So I actually want this message to be a Error, because a warning will only appear on the planning log (if requested) and if scheduler forgets this, order schedule will be accepted and dispatched.
