Hi All,
I have question for which i have searched different forums but did not get the exact answer I am looking for.
Query:
Suppose Material Type ROH is assigned to account category reference XYZ
Valuation Type ExtF is assigned to account category reference ABC
Now if i create a material with material type RoH and extend it to Valuation Type ExtF then based on which account category reference system will
propose valuation classes to enter in Material master ?
Is it mandatory that XYZ and ABC should be same ?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Regards, Tarun
Hi Jurgen,
Thanks for your answer!
I just tested and valuation classes are getting picked from account category reference from Valuation type and not from Material type account category reference.
Now I got the system behavior but I am not very clear why it is made like so.
Can you fathom why SAP has provided the functionality to assign account category reference to Valuation type ?

Had you already tried if you can assign different account category references?
In general an account category reference is assigned to a material type. And even you have split valuation defined the material type is not different per valuation type. From this point of view you should share the same account category reference for material type and its valuation types.

Dear Tarun,
Valuation type is no where linked to Account category reference. Once verify again. Valuation type is purely related to split valuation.
While creating material, as per the valuation category, Valuation types can be assigned to material master.
Valuation classes appears with respect to material type not on valuation types.
FYI.. Account category reference acts like a connector/bridge between Material type and Valuation classes.
One account category reference can be assigned to multiple material types and multiple valuation classes. Vice versa not possible.
Thanks
