Need Solution Manager 4

I m looking to get solution manager 4 to generate key for SAP IDES 5 installation .........please help.

Hi Bill,

Generally for an IDES installation it doesn't ask for a solution manager key.

But you can always refer to SAP Note 811923 for generating the SAP Solution Manager key for the installation or upgrade process.

Thanks for the reply. The "sapinst" is not moving forward without the KEY and i dont have the solution manager ......i think the IDES has the same rule as normal SAP ERP system. in SAP Note 811923 it is also required.

Could you please tell me that from where i can get the solution manager other than sap market place because i dont have user id and password .......it seems stupidity that SAP keep all educational and training material behind the login id and passwords for the downloads.

Hello Bilal,

You need a SAP Solution Manager system in order to get this installation Key.

If you have already get your installation box for the IDES system the faster solution would be to ask SAP for a installation box for the Solman 4.0 SR2, it is not a simple SW that you can download in 10 minutes from SAP Service Market Place.

Install, patch and configure a SOLMAN 4.0 can take around 5 full working days of work it all runs smoothly.
