OS/DB Migration Error on RFCRADDBDIF_IND_IND phase

Hi,

I am doing OS/DB migration from SUN-Oracle to AIX-Oracle as follows information:

Source:

SUN Solaris 8

Oracle 8.1.7

SAP Kernel R/3 4.6D_EXT

Target

IBM AIX5.3

Oracle 9.2

SAP Kernel R/3 4.6D_EXT

I have founded the problem after 96% of installation (R3SETUP –F DBMIG.R3S) and stuck this error. This step starts RADDBDIF with a remote function call (RFC) to the SAP System as the user DDIC.

For the screen that ask me for fill-in the password of user DDIC, but I try to fill that but stuck for ask password again.

Please help me for past this step. Thank you.

Hi All,

Thank you very much for your help,

I have Updated latest kernel patch for 4.6D_EXT to 2265 but not enough for start SAP Instance. I still found the error on all trace file as follows:

• ERROR => locale 'th_TH.TIS-620-1'. But the operating system ****

And then, I have check data in table TCP0C by SQL Statement and found wrong data in COUNTRY “TH” that show LOCALE = “th_TH.TIS-620-1” after that I check on OS level by command “locale –a” cannot find locale th_TH.TIS-620-1 but founded only th_TH.TIS-620

Therefore, I decided to backup table TCP0C and change locale th_TH.TIS-620-1 to th_TH.TIS-620 by SQL statement, That work, SAP can up and running.

So, I restart the R3SETUP –f DBMIG again and migration has finished successfully.

Hi All,

Thanks very much for you guide me about "SAP instance not started".

I guess the root causes of this problem is 40D_EXT kernel patch doesn’t support AIX 5.3 because I have checked trace file dev_w0 and founded the error message as follows:

Hrello Adisak,

Yes use the latest patch level.

The mentioned error is common for "older" patches.

Probably when 46D_EXT patch 1674 was released ( around 2003 ) the mentioned version of AIX was not supported.

problem is possibly with:

1. DDIC password

2, SAP instance not started

Adisak,

Looks like the SAP system's gateway is screwing up. I beleive from this information that the issue is not the DDIC password, although you should nonetheless check the DDIC user in client 000 to make sure! If the system is up and running, check also SMGW for errors, or just grab the dev_rfc log file from the work directory to see what the issue may be with the gateway.

Also ensure that you are using the correct DDIC password - it is the password of DDIC of the source system at the time you exported the database.

Are you in the installation phase of the process - are you importing now on the AIX/Oracle system?

Yes, I'm in the installation phase by R3SETUP -f DBMIG.R3S and already imported database AIX/Oracle completely.

But DDIC user in source system that expired before start export phase and I confess to forgot change password. I know that because I logged on to source system client 000 by user DDIC and correct password that prompt to change password immediately.

I don’t need to restart export and import process again because I have only one phase to finish import on target system. Please me for next step to fix.

3. Trace file dev_rfc0 - dev_rfc24 have show 0 byte on /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/work
