Hi everyone,

When I try to bind the text or button with a data source, in the data selection part there is nothing to show where i can select the data from.

In the screen shot attached I have mapped the text box to ds_3 which is in-turn mapped to spreadsheet. but it is blank when I try to select a field from here. can you please help me. why is this so? Is it because of the universe as a back ground.

Hi,

Did you check the data is available in the "Edit Initial View"?

Are you selecting the Dimension or Measure value?

Please provide your Edit Initial View Screen Shot.

Hi Neetika,

Sometimes, Single dimension values can't be seen in the data selection part. So there is a two way, we can achieve it,

1. Create some dummy measure object in IDT. Added in the data source and then check data selection part, if you can able to select.

2. And one more way is, we can get dimension name from data source. using getdimensiontext function.

Copy and paste the dimension name in the "Selected data cell" property. For example "_PK7LsE..."etc which you can seen in the above image.

Please let me know, if you need more information.
