SRM 5.0 Does Punch out catalog functionality require CCM installation

Former Member

Hi All,

Can someone help me with the answer for this question? In our existing client we are planning for only Punch out catalogs and no internal catalogs. In order to achieve this scenario, is it necessary to have CCM installed as well. Our basis team is yet to install the software and I need to suggest them whether they need to install CCM or not. Some colleagues said CCM is not necessary as we are not maintaining and hosting internal catalogs. But when I look at the component matrix for SRM 5.0 I see " SAP Catalog Content Management 2.0" and "XI content for SAP Catalog content management 2.0" as Mandatory.

Can someone suggest me as whether CCM is actually required if we are hosting only punchout catalogs and NO INTERNAL CATALOGS? Also if not necessary, can someone let me know in which scenarios exactly do we need to go for CCM installation?

regards,

SAM K

Hi Sam,

CCM is not a required component for punchout functionality.

This is very much possible.

Please read the thread

Just read the statement of issue by Amit.

Hello Sam,

Catalog Content Management can be divided in 2 scenerio:

1. Punchout Scenerio - no internal Catalog, integration with external punchout sites. NO CCM is require - if external site is OCI XML, HTML compatible then no need of XI otherwise you may require XI to translate non OCI format to OCI. But in no way you require CCM.

2. Internal Catalog Scenerio - In this case you host supplier catalog internally, yes in this case you require to have CCM.

Your is scenerio -1 so you don't require CCM, however regarding XI you need to first assess whether your supplier is ready to send OCI XML or OCI HTML - if yes then you DON'T REQUIRE XI TOO, otherwise XI would be necessary for converting non OCI format to OCI, as SRM excepts only OCI XML or OCI HTML.

Hope this hepls.

Hi Nishant and Mahesh,

Thanks for the Response. It mentions in the Component matrix for SRM 5.0, self service procurement that CCM 2.0 and XI content for CCM2.0 is mandatory. What does it mean? Does it mean we need to install it compulsorily.

please let me know.

Hi sam,

There is no any relationship between connecting punchout catalogs and CCM.

Punchout catalogs are external vendor maintained catalogs and CCM is maintained by the content management in the company.

To connect your punchout catalog you need to create a catalog call structure and the vendor catalog should able to transfer OCI fields to SRM Server.

I say no need of any CCM Installation.
