Hi Experts,

I have a requirement to add new characteristic to a report. For this I need to add the char to DSO and then to cube. The datamodel is something like this -

DS -> DSO1 -> DSO2 -> Cube

The new characteristic is present in DSO1 and needs to be added to DSO2 and Cube.

My questions is if after adding the char in DSO2 and Cube, if we do full load from DSO1->DSO2 (overwrite) and then delta from DSO2 -> Cube. Will this populate the characteristic with data for all history in cube without any issues (delta or double data). I will do this without deleting data from cube.

I assume there would not be any issues as though from DSO1->DSO2 it is full (overwrite). DSO2 -> Cube since we do delta, only the changes which is the new characteristic will flow? Do you think I need to delete cube data still ?

Can you all add your thoughts or insight into this. Thank you all in advance.

You won't need to empty the cube. The new field should go up to the cube through the DSOs naturally. The only point is that your number of records in the cube is going to triple (if the new field is always filled). This is not critical as the compression should reduce it but you could prefer to empty the cube to avoid this.
