Open attachment inline in sapui5

Hello,

I am looking an option how to open .docx / .txt files inline in SAPUI5 application. In Master-detail page when we click on attachment icontabbar, it gives us a list of attachments. On click of any attachment link it shows option to download. But instead of downloading that attachment I am trying to open it inline. I am able to achive for .pdf files but for .doc I am getting blank screen.

So please suggest your ideas.

Thanks Saurabh,

i understand the browsers don't have supportive plugin to display office documents. But it was initially showing plugin not supported but when I added office plugin in chrome extension, now it is showing a page but its blank and this is the same behaviour with IE as well. So I assume there should be some alternative solution to achieve it.

As you have suggested to open in fiori client, I will test it.

Most browsers have integrated PDF viewer so when you click on a PDF attachment it opens inline. However for .doc/.docx, .xls/.xlsx type attachments there is no integrated viewer in the browser so it is not possible to open these attachment types inline in the browser. You will have to save these files on our local disk and open them using appropriate viewer applications.

However, if you open your app using SAP Fiori Client on an iOS device then these files can be opened by the inline attachment viewer in Fiori Client.
