Is it possible to run ABAP Webdynpro application, by user not present in SU01?

Hi,

We have SAP ECC, with few admin users in SU01. We have Webdynpro application, which should be accessed by employees based on their windows ID, on the browser.

I wanted to know, that do we have to maintain SU01 for each of the employee in SAP ECC, or there is other method by which employee can access the Webdynpro application from the browser.

Note: We are not using portal or ESS for hosting WDA.

Your inputs would be of great help.

thanks,

Sumeet

    Hello,

Each user accessing system has to be defined in SU01. You can do it manually or you can synchronize users from LDAP server.

    Hi Leon,

there will be no access without SU01 user accounts as long as you don't want to build your own user management on top of one technical user. Building your own user management would raise security and licensing issues and would therefore be no serious solution.

Synchronizing with LDAP as described by Bartosz is a valid concept.

But there also is a concept to create SU01 accounts on the fly when using SAML as authentication mechanism. Have a look at Wiki: Automatic User Account Creation and Update using SAML 2.0 in AS ABAP

    Kind regards, Lutz
