Upload Excel file into SAP IT if The field data has length more than 256 ch

I have a excel file which needs to upload into an Internal Table, But one of the field has more than 256 Characters in Excel File ie a long text ( more than 256 may be it has 1000-5000).

Used Function modules 'TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP' .

From the above FM we are getting only maximum 256 char length.

Please suggest a solution for above issue.

Thanks in advance

    Hi Naveen,

You can create a table with lines of 1000 characters and fill this table. Then pass it into the FM TABLE_COMPRESS. This will return a table with a width of 255 characters, but is in a copressed format that XL cannot interpret. Then pass this into the FM TABLE_DECOMPRESS (not TABLE_UNCOMPRESS!).

This will give you a table which could then be passed into the FM

    'TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP' .

    Hope this works for you...

    Cheers,

      Hi Pankaj,

Thank you very much for your answer, but I think I don't understand it.

I have the table content once I use FM 'TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP' , so, what do you mean by passing the table to FM 'TABLE_COMPRESS'?

Besides, FM 'TABLE_COMPRESS' and 'TABLE_DECOMPRESS' are obsolete in my system 😔

      Any other suggestion?

      Regards

      Arancha
