file to file

HI,

One small clarification in file to file scneario

I configured above scenario in PI 7.0, and I dont have access to the server. So I placed the source file in my local machine and in ID, I gave source directory as

//<mysys_ipaddress>/c:/

But the file in this directory is not picking up.

Do we need to place file in server directory only?

If I dont have access to server, then what would be the workaround for this?

Please guide me.

Thanks

Ravindra.

Hi Ravi,

The earlier posts have mentioned everything that you need to configure a scenario to post file from local desktop..but just to add one point from my personal experience..you may need to disable the firewall in your local desktop or register XI as a trusted system in there, to help it read the data from the specified directory.

Hi Ravi

If you are using FTP then check whether your FTP Connection is running successfully or not.

Also check the Sender Communication Channnel.

Cheers...

HI,

to do this you need to take the Transport protocol as FTP and configure the local FTP .

See the below link

Hi Ravi,

if u are using NFS in your file adapter then it should be on server.

hi,

Do we need to place file in server directory only? - YES you need to place the file into server only...

If I dont have access to server, then what would be the workaround for this - Ask your basis folks create the shared folder..so that you can copy the files...

If you copy the files in your desktop it won't pick the files...

Venu.
