IBP HCI Agent Hardware - Sizing Guidelines

Former Member

Hello,

The PAM for the HCI Agent contains a minimum hardware configuration, but we would like additional practical information. Are there any additional sources of information for properly scaling the HCI Agent hardware? We are using RHEL 7.x servers.

Thank you

Hi Michael,

The sizing is hugely impacted by the design of your landscape. The practical advice would be to keep the HCI part very lean i.e. try to push most of the processing on the source side. HCI is not designed to deal with heavy transformations. Having said that 8-12 gb of RAM coupled with a 4-8 core CPU will be good enough. I will advise to have more than one Agent for failover and load balacing if you expect heavy volume of data.
