PM_Catalog Profile Issue

If we have already assigned a catalog profile in the equipment master then do we need to assign it again in the notification.
Also if we have 2 seperate catalog profiles for both equipment and notification, which will be the default profile while creating the notification using that equipment?

The Catalog Profile of Equipment will be coming into effect as soon as we give Equipment number in Notification. When you fill Equipment number field in Notification and hit Enter key, a message would appear in the status bar: 'Catalog Profile copied from equipment'
