JSPM in cluster environment

with nw04 release, we need to apply sps on dialog instance in j2ee cluster by running sapinst and choose install sps on dialog instance (something like that). with nw04s release, do we still need to do that? From what I read, it seems like we only need to apply sps on message server, then restart dialog instance, it should get the updated kernel files, etc. is it correct? if so, do you leave dialog instance up or down when sps is applied on message server?

Thanks
