Credit Card reader interface

As part of overall solution we are implementing cash desk

functionality. One of the requirements is to be able to interface with

credit card reader to get credit card details and pass this information

to external processing agency.

We have developed interface with external processing agency which sends credit card details and gets back authorization information. The only missing piece of this development is integration of the credit card reader to SAP. We have a credit card reader with pin pad (from VeriFone - model EverestPlus) that is configured and ready to send data. Per the card reader vendor the card reader is loaded with software and applications can retrieve data using multiple objects.

Right now we can key in the credit card number manually into SAP.

Can someone please provide guidelines on how to interface with an external card

reader to automatically get the card details into SAP when the card is

swiped. The client is planning to user VeriFone card reader, how do we

know which card reader is supported by SAP? Also, does SAP provide any

standard components to interface to a card reader?

Any help on this will be very much appreciated.

Thank You,

    Dear Prasad,

Payment method using Credt Card is one of the Tender Type in SAP.

Tender types are created in SAP using Condition Types.

If you are using POS for billing for your goods, then using IDoc method you can receive payment details.

Hope this information will be useful.
